The Upper-Level Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) is a common standardized test that prestigious independent and boarding schools require for admission to High Schools. Taken typically in 8th grade this test has five sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics Achievement and an Essay. A copy of the essay is sent to each school you are applying to and does not factor into the overall test score.
Our comprehensive ISEE Upper-Level program focuses on building a solid foundation in core subjects—enhancing critical reading skills, mastering vocabulary through root-word proficiency, and reinforcing fundamental math concepts. Prioritizing content mastery precedes strategic test preparation, allowing students to confidently tackle the exam.
Before suggesting the ideal learning approach, whether through group sessions or private tutoring, we advocate for a mock test. This insightful step pinpoints individual strengths and weaknesses, shaping a personalized strategy for success.
To ensure a comfortable ramp-up to the official test, we recommend a diagnostic session in Fall or Winter and starting classes no later than Spring for those who need work on content. Call us now to schedule your ISEE Upper-Level diagnostic and set the stage for academic achievement.
