NYC Stem Club is looking to hire full-time & part-time teachers to teach middle school and high school level test prep at our downtown location in New York City. Student instruction is provided via a combination of in-person and remote classes. We offer a fast-growing, start-up environment along with, and are looking for like-minded individuals to be part of the team.

Job Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge and mastery of the topics in the courses being taught
• Strong background in pedagogy
• Ability to review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to presenting lessons to increase student understanding
• Work collaboratively with other teachers to develop instructional strategies to address students at all levels
• Teach at and above grade level curriculum to middle and high school students
• Conduct in person classes at our facilities, and also remote classes via Zoom
• Train students in problem solving and in application of their mathematical understanding to interdisciplinary problems
• Develop and administer assessment tests for students
• Evaluate the academic performance of students and maintain records of academic performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field (minimum) and Master's Degree in Education (preferred)
• 2 years or more experience working with students in a middle / high school or college environment
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Experience working with elementary, middle, and/or high school students
• Ability to maintain a safe and positive learning environment
• Willingness to collaborate with other educators and commit to students' success
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with various models of education such as Singapore Math, and Math competitions is a plus
• Ability to conduct classes in a classroom setting and also via remote methods such as on Zoom, Teams etc.
• Experience working with or familiarity with Google Classroom suite

In this role, you'll be instrumental in assisting students with the college admissions process. You'll provide expert guidance on crafting compelling admissions essays, preparing for interviews, and selecting the right institutions for their academic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, English, Psychology, or related field
• Experience working with high school students and/or college admissions processes
• Demonstrated ability to guide and motivate students in navigating the college application process
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in college essay writing and editing, with knowledge of college essay prompts and expectations
• Familiarity with various college application requirements and standards
• Experience in standardized test preparation is a plus
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and sensitivity to confidential information
