Grace is a Stuyvesant alumna and graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University with a B.A. in Political Science and Human Rights. She then received her M.S.ED in Special Education from Brooklyn College and J.D. from Cardozo Law School. Grace was a private tutor for five years before becoming a full-time teacher at a NYC public charter school teacher. There, she taught 8th Grade English Language Arts for three years and was the Special Education coordinator. She worked with both English Language Learners and students with disabilities in acquiring and retaining vocabulary, building reading comprehension skills, and developing writing stamina. Under her guidance, Grace’s students doubled, and some tripled their New York State exam scores! Grace is currently the Executive Director at NYC STEM Club, where she is the operations head and lead instructor in English and Language Arts. With her focus on continuous improvement, she has adopted a data-driven framework to analyze and track student progress which guides our ability to customize and structure lessons to maximize student learning. She is the lead curriculum specialist and instructor for all competitive exam courses, such as the SHSAT, SSAT, ISEE, COOP, HSPT, and ACT/SAT. She also teaches middle and high school ELA enrichment courses with a focus on creative and analytical writing. Grace joined NYC STEM Club which gave her the opportunity to further advance her passion for teaching while providing her with the flexibility to build rigorous and culturally relevant curriculum that is both engaging and targeted to meet different learning needs. She also seeks to spread NYC STEM Club’s mission of treating every student holistically and developing in children a love for learning and excellence. During her law school education, Grace won several awards including Best Oralist and Best Brief Writer for the American Regionals of the International Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, where she was a semifinalist. She has also won top 5 oralist and best brief writer awards for the Emory Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition. Grace has developed and is leading the Speech and Debate offerings at NYC STEM Club.
