As students matriculate to high school, they begin differentiating themselves from their peers through academic pursuits. To that end, we offer a variety of core subject classes—in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and History—that provide a broad foundation and supplement for high school education. Because core subjects are modeled after college core academic courses, our classes will not only cover the foundational skills required for secondary education but will also introduce college-level coursework to high school students to better prepare them for post-secondary education.
We will use formative assessments (do-nows and quizzes) to determine how students are acquiring and retaining foundational knowledge skills. We will also use frequent summative assessments (cumulative exams) to evaluate how much a student has learned throughout the course.
